China today made one of the most popular swimming pools in the world, the famous Water Cube available for the public.

An eight years old boy became its first visitor and swimmer. Eight-year-old boy Bi Sheng, who is the first visitor to dive into the swimming pool at the National Aquatics Center.

The 'Water Cube' opened the warm-up pool to public swimmers last Saturday. People who want to swim there have to get a health check and a deep water certificate before entering the pool. The pool will be open Thursday to Sunday from 2 pm to 7 pm until October. The entrance fee is 50 yuan ($7) for two hours.

The Beijing National Aquatics Center, also known as Water Cube, is an aquatics center that was built alongside Beijing National Stadium in the Olympic Green for the swimming competitions of the 2008 Summer Olympics. Despite its nickname, the building is a cuboid (rectangular box), not a cube.
