The industry-leading Terex Highwall Mining System is a new, low cost addition to traditional mining methods. The system can produce 40,000 to 120,000 tons (110,000 mt) of coal per month depending on seam height, and can mine coal seams ranging from 30 in to 11.6 ft (0,76 m to 3,5 m) with depths to 1,000 ft (300 m). The Terex Highwall Mining System can be fully operated with a three- to four-man crew, averaging 30 to 40 tons (27 to 36 tonnes) per man-hour. Source: Terex Mining
