Kalgoorlie, alternatively known as
Kalgoorlie-Boulder, is a city in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western
Australia, and is located 370 miles east-northeast of Perth at the end of
the Great Eastern Highway, the state capital. The city was founded in 1893
during the Yilgarn-Goldfields gold rush, and is located close to the
so-called "Golden Mile".

Based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, The Super Pit produces up to 850,000 ounces of gold every year and its operation far outweighs any other mining centre in Australia. The Super Pit is the biggest gold open pit mine in the country.

(KCGM) and owned (50/50) by Newmont Australia and Barrick Gold Corporation.
