China Shenhua is a world-leading coal-based integrated energy company. Its main business includes production and sales of coal, railway and port transportation of coal-related materials, as well as power generation and sales. China Shenhua Energy Company is the largest coal mining state-owned enterprise in Mainland China, and the second largest coal mining enterprise in the world, just after the Peabody Energy in the United States. It is a subsidiary of Shenhua Group. It is engaged in the production and sales of coal and the generation and sales of power in the PRC. It operates coal mines as well as an integrated railway network and a seaport that are primarily used to transport its coal. It also operates power plants in the PRC which are engaged in the generation and sales of coal-based power to provincial and regional electric companies.
