Todos Vuelven
"Everybody Returns", written by Cesar Miro, is a Peruvian waltz that
talks about how everybody eventually goes back to their roots, to the
land where they were born.
César Alfredo Miró Quesada Bahamonde (1907-1999), more commonly
known as César Miró, was a Peruvian writer and composer. He wrote
novels, stories, manuscripts, essays, and poetry.
In 1941, Jesús Vásquez
performed this song for the first time, and as she started to sing the
first verses of the song, she knew that Miró had written a glorious new
page as a native song.

Where perhaps more than one love bloomed.
Beneath the solitary tree of the past

We all return by memory's road
But the time for love never returns.
The air which carries in her arms
The smell of the past, yesterday's aroma
She quietly whispers in our ear
Her song learned at dusk.
She tells us in a mysterious voice
