Damaris Mallma Porras (Huancayo,
January 26, 1986) is a Peruvian author and singer. In 2003 she launched to market her first
album
called "Give me a sign". Many of
her songs are sung in Quechua.
Quechua (Runa Simi) is a Native American language of South America. It
was already widely spoken across the Central Andes long before the time of the
Incas, who adopted it as the official language of administration for their
Empire.
Tusuy Kusun or TusuyKusun by Damaris (Quechua song, "Bailemos" in Spanish, "Let us
dance" in English) is the winner of
Vina del Mar Folk contest,

during February since 1959 in Viña del Mar, Chile. It is considered the most
important musical event in Latin America.
