El Condor Pasa is a typical Inca dance, based on authentic Incan folk melodies. Around 1916, Peruvian composer Daniel Alomia Robles notated this popular traditional melody and used it as the basis for an instrumental suite. The English Lyrics, 'If I could, I surely would' words, are by Paul Simon (Simon & Garfunkel)!

Paul Mauriat (1925 – 2006) was a French orchestra leader, specializing in light music. He is best known in the United States for his hit (#1 for 5 weeks in 1968) recording of André Popp's "L'Amour est bleu" ("
Love is Blue"). He is one of the artist with the largest recording catalogs featuring more than 1000 titles just from his Polygram era (1965-1993) almost all of them are available on CD, mostly in Japan. See also Tocatta by Paul Mauriat.
