The Movie” is an animated film adapted from Edwin A. Abbott's classic
mathematical novel, Flatland: A Romance
of Many Dimensions (1884), and is currently in production in Austin, Texas.

Like shadows, the denizens
of Flatland freely flit about on the surface of their
world but lack the power to rise above or sink into it.
All Flatland's inhabitants--straight lines, triangles,
squares, pentagons, hexagons, and other figures--are
trapped in their planar geometry. Reading Flatland
enabled the students to make the progression to higher
dimensional geometries.
