Pentagon and Lissajous Art illustration generates line drawings based on Lissajous figures. Lissajous curves are the family of curves described by the parametric equations:

 


Two oscillations one along the x axis and the other along the y axis when added result in a two dimensional motion. The path traced is known as Lissajous figures.

Jules Antoine Lissajous (1822 - 1880) was a French mathematician, after whom Lissajous figures are named. He invented the harmonograph. A harmonograph is a mechanical device that can create Lissajous curves or even more complex drawings.
